A Patio Refresh

Summer is here and we have been craving outdoor time after a long and cold Winter. However, our backyard patio had seen better days and was not very welcoming just a few weeks ago! It was time for a quick patio refresh! Here’s how we did it!

After years outside in the elements, the metal on our furniture was very dull and dirty. The furniture was still in functioning shape but needed a refresh for our little makeover. After some research on amazon and a trip to Home Depot, we found a product called Rejuvenate, which is a great outdoor color restorer.  Just after one application our metal chair already looked so much better. This product can also be used on vinyl, plastic, rubber, stone, fiberglass and more!

Next, we went shopping online for an affordable outdoor rug. We found this rug at Overstock. The price was right and it had the colors we wanted to incorporate into our little makeover.

We needed a new umbrella and were so excited to receive this umbrella and base stand from Abba Patio, which added some much needed shade and style to our little patio.

We also received these cute solar string lights, which we used to decorate the umbrella, the lantern on the table and hang on the tree branches around the patio. We love their soft light in the early evening!

To complete our little refresh, we brought out some pillows, flowers and lanterns to give it more of a “living room” feel.  Our kids absolutely love this “room” now. They always want to sit out here to play and bring their friends out here to hang out.

Because we love a good before and after. Here is a comparison of our little patio refresh.

The ugly dirty before:

And the refreshed after:

Mission accomplished! We love that we were able to stay within budget and still create a space that the entire family loves to use!

What is your favorite space to use during the Summer months? Share in the comments below!

P.S. While I was gifted the umbrella, stand, and solar lights from Abba Patio, this is not a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own.

P.S.S. While we did not pressure wash our patio, we heard amazing reviews of this pressure washer and plan to purchase it to wash the rug and cushions before Winter comes and wash the patio in the following Spring. We will let you know how that goes.

I just have to say that I love what you did to your patio. I love how the blue and browns really go together. I live in the mid west so I don’t get to spend much time outside, but when the warmer months come my patio is my 2nd home you could say. Your patio looks so comfortable and inviting. I think I will be doing an upgrade on mine!
