Happy Holidays and welcome to our Christmas Home Tour 2018! I am so humbled and honored that you stopped by to see our Christmas decor. Today, we are sharing our decor in the family and living room spaces!
I am delighted to be joining some home decor bloggers participating in Haley’s Stately Home Lane Christmas Home Tour Blog Hop! A warm welcome to those of you coming from Cherie’s Sweet Rose and Wren! Isn’t her Christmas decor so amazing, I love her beautiful decor style! More information about the blog hop is available at the end of this post!
This holiday season, our main goal is to spend quality time with our family and hopefully reduce the stress of the holidays. We also wanted to incorporate a simple holiday decor look that would not make us want to take it down on the day after Christmas. With that in mind, we took a minimalist and mostly neutral approach to our Christmas decor, which hopefully we can re-use for the Winter months. Our color scheme is white, silver, mercury glass, and subtle touches of red to bring some holiday cheer to our home.
Family Room
Let’s start with our family room, which is in the process of being updated. We have so far tackled the fireplace, replaced the windows and add a new rug. Hardwood floors, white baseboards and trims, a better sized coffee table, and new window treatments are next for this room. There is still much to do, but we are loving this room, especially after adding the rug which detracts me from “seeing” that old brown sofa we are keeping for now because it is so comfortable and because we want to wait until the kids get a bit older to get a new one.

For our mantelpiece this year, we added this little Christmas tree forest. These are whitewashed wooden trees from Hobby Lobby! Aren’t they so adorable? We added the little house stocking holders from Target One Spot and some holly berries. After the holidays we will remove the red accents and probably keep the trees on the mantel through January.

My favorite Christmas decor has to be this little flocked tree I found at Target last year. We added a few holly berries to it and we are done on this side of the fireplace hearth!

On the other size of the fireplace, we placed these two lanterns with candles and the little holly berries, of course!

On the sofa by the Christmas tree, we placed some pillows (isn’t this reindeer pillow so cute?) and super comfy pom pom blanket.

Across from our Christmas tree by the window we placed a small table with a little vignette along with our blanket ladder.

I love this cute mercury glass tree from Hobby Lobby!

Our little coffee table holds a couple of silver buckets with bits of Christmas red.

Living Room
Our family room opens into our living room, which we absolutely love, giving us the illusion of a great room but with some separation of spaces.

We created another Christmas tree forest on our console table.

We added shelves to our focal wall about the sofa in the living room this year. I have big plans for these shelves for next year, but for now, we’ve added a bit of simple Christmas there.
Our coffee table is covered with faux fur with a fun reindeer vignette and our trusty mercury glass candle holders, which are a year round decor in our home that also works for the holidays.

Here is a close-up of those cute snowflake pillows on the sofa. I think they can stay on for Winter decor. Do you think so?

We have bookcases on each side of the sofa. Here is the bookcase on the right.
The little white church and house are actually salt and pepper shakers but they are so cute, I am using them as Christmas decor in the living room.
Here is the bookcase on the left of the sofa.
This little nativity scene was a gift from my mother-in-law, which we cherish and bring out each season.
And this brings us to the end of our Christmas tour. Our home is certainly a work in progress and lots of improvement projects to be completed, but at the end of the day, what really matters are the memories we make with our loved ones.
