Simple Spring Tablescape

Hello Friends! It’s officially Spring but the weather hasn’t quite caught up to the season around here yet. We have had snow and some very cold temps, but I do love the touches of Spring we can bring to the home regardless of the weather outside. I created a very simple yet cheerful tablescape a while back and shared on Instagram and I thought I would add here some more pictures and how simple it was to create it!

While I love having fresh tulips, I don’t seem to be able to hold on to them for even a couple of days! So, I used some faux tulips sourced from Amazon (links below), which if well taken care of can last a few years. They are very soft and pretty real looking and I had a great time styling them in a very simple Spring tablescape in our dining room.

We love blue and white and decided to have this color combo as our background for our tablescape. We added these square plates and the white and pink tulips. White napkins finish up our very simple, yet playful tablescape as we await warmer days.

if you are like me, you probably really enjoy those gorgeous tablescapes shared on Instagram or Pinterest, but when it comes to creating our own, it may feel a bit overwhelming. What I found to be helpful is to start with a simple layer of table covering (table cloth, table run or just placemats), followed by pretty layered plates. There is no need to have a matching set of dinner and salad plates, use what you have for a fun and cheerful table setting. On top of your plates you can place anything that you already have at home to bring in the whimsy and cool factor to your table. Flowers, fruit, bowls, a clipping from your backyard, anything goes! Here I used one tulip on top of a simple white napkin per plate and on an angle, taking turns on the direction of each tulip. I think it would also look good to have the tulips lined up straight or angled in the same direction.

For the centerpiece, we went with three ginger jars and more tulips! 🙂 Simple, yet cohesive with the table setting. Another option would be to have a large bowl with tulips and add serving dishes in the same color family.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our simple take on a Spring tablescape and hopefully you are inspired to create your own.
