Summer Home Tour

Hello Friends! We have had the laziest of Summers around here. The children enjoying Summer camps, trips to the pool and lake and many late nights and we went along with them! 🙂 While we didn’t work much on decor projects and kept things pretty simple, I still wanted to have a fresh and Summery decor throughout the house that would last throughout the season without much upkeep. Here are the main rooms and the overall look we had this Summer. Resources are linked at the end of this post.

Starting with the living room, we carried on with the blue color scheme, with flowery pillow covers and fresh greenery! Our ferns from our backyard were beautiful this year!

We love this old chair I found at a thrift store for $6, which was reupholstered and painted in a beautiful gray. The two white shelves that flank the sofa were kept pretty unchanged.

Moving to our family room, we kept things pretty simple, carrying on the blue and neutral colors into this space. We did add new taller curtains and a chandelier late Spring, which we fully enjoyed during our Summer months.

Here is a view of the fireplace with the new chandelier and more greenery. This room used to be extremely dark in the evening, this chandelier with its nine light bulbs, (yes, 9), provides great lighting in the evenings. We made sure to install a dimmer for those nights were we don’t need much light in this room.

Moving to our kitchen, yes, you guessed it, we kept the blue scheme going on! More fresh ferns from our yard on the kitchen table was the extent of our Summer decor!

Some faux flowers on the island above the sink.

Moving to our dinning room, I had to bring back our faux lemons and greenery as our centerpiece.

As you can see, we love glass chandeliers! Our dining room as the best light in the house, so our fresh plants like to stay here as well.

While kept most things the same inside the house, we did tackle a small patio refresh in our backyard. Please see here for details and more pictures of this Summer project.

I hope you enjoyed our simple Summer home tour. We are already gearing up for Fall and I am looking forward to some changes and I can’t wait to share it all with you! Stay tuned.
